FISHHAWK NEWS:

Select Kicks Off.  FishHawk Soccer Club is ramping up for the 2009-2010 season.  Nearly 100 players are registering for the 11 competitive teams in age groups U9-U13.  These teams will play other “Select” teams within Florida Youth Soccer Association (FYSA) Region C including counties such as Pasco, Hillsborough, Pinellas, Manatee, and Sarasota.   The Select game schedule runs from November through March and teams will also participate in various tournaments throughout the season. 

FHSC To Be In 4^th of July Parade.  FishHawk Soccer Club will participate in the Brandon Independence Day Parade.  To show their support, the club will be an entry in the annual celebration.  Players of all ages and teams from FHSC will be part of the trek up Parsons Avenue and along Robertson Street.  The parade is scheduled to begin at 10:00am.  All players interested in participating will need to wear their FishHawk Soccer Club uniform/cleats (no shin guards) and should contact Coach Romildo at directorofsoccer@fishhawksoccer.com.  Adults who were part of the adult league may also participate but need to contact Romildo also.  Be sure to come on out and cheer for your local player and team! 

Adult League Play Returns.  For those over 25, the adult league will be returning to FHSC this fall.  With the success of the inaugural season in the Spring, the club is expecting an increase in adult players registering for the Fall season.  Games will be played Sunday evenings as they were last season with the schedule set to begin mid-September and run through early November.  The O25 league will open registrations mid-July through mid-August.  There will be a few rule modifications to better manage teams and games to focus on player participation and having fun to include club player passes for the league.  Most adults come out to improve fitness, enjoy the community camaraderie, and to learn firsthand what soccer is all about.  The club encourages all those who have ever thought about playing to come out and participate. 

Youth Recreational Season Fast Approaches.   Plans are being finalized in preparation for the Fall season.  Registration period will kickoff at the Back to School Festival at the FishHawk Youth Sports Complex in Lithia August 8 from 9:00am to 12:00pm.  The season will begin in November after FishHawk Wolfpack Football season wraps up.

Back to School Festival.  August 8, 2009 at the FishHawk Youth Sports Complex - The sixth annual FishHawk Area Networking Group (FANG) Back to School Festival will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday and features booths from local businesses and restaurants, music, martial arts and other demonstrations and exhibits of emergency vehicles.  Food tickets will be sold for $1/ticket and for every 20 tickets purchased a raffle ticket for prizes will be issued.  FANG is an organization of more than 100 local business owners who will all be present showing off their wares and fares.  FishHawk Soccer Club will be participating in this year’s Festival and will be taking registrations for the Fall recreation league season.

New Committees and Volunteers.  We now have Registrations and Ceremonies committees up and running.  FHSC would like thank Tracy Vitali, Lauren Herbert, and Bill Lawrence for taking the lead in our Registrations Committee.  They have already been busy with Select try-outs, registrations, and Summer Camp registrations.  Thank you so much for you time!  FHSC would also like to thank Donna Gonalez, Michelle Ayers, and Nicole Everson for stepping up to help out with our Ceremonies Committee.  The committee has also been busy putting plans together for the club’s participation in the Brandon 4^th of July Parade and the FishHawk Back To School Festival and are still in need of a few more folks who would like to help plan and coordinate our FHSC’s ceremonies throughout the year.  Anyone looking to be part of a committee for the club should contact any of the board members – see the website for contacts.
